Black History Month 2012 Opening Celebration

The University of Missouri at St. Louis will host its Black History Month opening celebration with the theme of, "Black Women in American Culture in History: Ordinary Women, Extraordinary Accomplishments." 

The keynote speaker of the event will be Bishop Vashti Murphy-McKenzie, who is the national chaplain for Delta Sigma Theta sorority as well as the first woman bishop consecrated in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

The ceremony marks the celebration of month-long black history events on the campus.
