Police Still Looking for Suicidal Teen After Friday Hospital Escape

Authorities said Vernon Echols left the hospital without approval and was last seen running on foot and naked.

St. Louis County Police are still looking for a teenager that fled Christian hospital on Friday.

Vernon Echols has not been found, according to St. Louis County Police Officer Randy Vaughn, who also said he isn't believed to be hurt.Β

St. Louis County Police are searching for a 16-year-old boy who escaped from the hospital after trying to commit suicide Thursday evening.

Police said Vernon Echols was taken to Christian Hospital after attempting suicide in the 11000 block of Dunn Rd. around 7 p.m., according to the St. Louis American.

Authorities said Echols left from the hospital without approval and was last seen running on foot and naked.

Police have issued a Missing Endangered Person Advisory for him and said Echols is 5-feet-7, and weighs 133 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
