Opening Reception for 'Exposure 15' Exhibit at UMSL

An exhibition that’s become one of Gallery 210’s most anticipated shows is back.

“Exposure 15” is the latest in a series of group exhibitions designed to feature artists who live and work in the St. Louis metropolitan area. This year, Gallery 210 at the University of Missouri–St. Louis will present the work of Heather Corley, Deborah Douglas and Gina Alvarez, who was named Best Local Artist by the Riverfront Times in 2009.

The exhibit will open Aug. 23. The trio’s art deals with domesticity, love, loss and nostalgia. The artwork will be on display through Sept. 29. A reception for the artists will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 6. The event is free and open to the public.

The exhibition is supported in part by grants from the Regional Arts Commission and the Missouri Arts Council with additional assistance from The Center for the Humanities at UMSL and the Schlafly Tap Room.

The “Exposure” series is a long-running program created by the St. Louis Gallery Association and previously presented in the Hunt Gallery at Webster University in Webster Groves, Mo. UMSL’s Gallery 210 now runs the program. “Exposure 15” will be the ninth exhibition in the series to be held at Gallery 210.
