When Irish Deals Are Smiling

This week's Frugal Family takes on a green theme in honor of St. Patrick's Day.

We're all watching our family budgets these days. Whether shopping with coupons or looking for two-for-one deals, we're taking advantage of all sorts of offers and savings that help us stretch our dollars.

This column will be dedicated to giving you great local deals each week that will help your family’s bottom line, and since we do the scouting for you, you can save time as well as money. 

Kilkenny's Pub in Clayton
Deal: Celebrate St. Patrick's Day at an authentic Irish Pub.  All Patch readers will get a free Shamrock Shot, if you just mention this article. The owners are offering $5 Jameson Shots and $4 (18oz) aluminum Budweiser beers. The menu includes corned beef, cabbage and baby red potatoes, fish and chips, bangers and mash, Guinness beer  cheese soup, Kilkenny's burgers and more.

 in Creve Coeur
Deal: Houlihan's offers corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's Day. For the enitre month of March, though, they have added a reuben sandwich  to their menu. Every Thursday (St. Patrick's Day is on a Thursday this year), Houlihan's offers a complimentary lobster tail or five jumbo shrimp with any steak purchase after 4p.m.
Good through: March 17 (corned beef) and all of March (reuben sandwich)

 in Richmond Heights
Deal: Mike Duffy's in Richmond Heights and Town and Country will both be offering special St. Patrick's day menus, including homemade pepper jack cheese and potato soup, shepherd's pie and corned beef and cabbage. The Richmond Heights location offers $12 bucket specials as well as Irish dancers for your entertainment.  Kids eat free every Tuesday with each paying adult at the Richmond Heights location and every Monday through Thursday in Town & Country. Just ask your server.

 in Maryland Heights
Deal: Syberg's Westport will have live music playing on St. Patrick's Day. From 1 p.m to 6 p.m. radio host , Favazz, will broadcast live on KSHE95 featuring the Irish music  of the Barley Boys from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., followed by Joe Dirt & the Dirty Boys from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Kegs and Eggs breakfast special for $4.95 will also be offered.

 in Florissant 
Deal: The Theatre will be presenting, . It is Ireland’s longest-running show straight from the Jury Hotel in Dublin. Celebrate early with Irish music and stepdancing on  March 15. The performance starts at 8 p.m. The cost of admission is $27 for adults and $25 for seniors and students. For more information and reservations, call 314-921-5678.
