The Great Escape: Budget Beauty

Why pay $60 for a facial when you can pay $20?

With families running on tighter budgets, sometimes it’s hard for a mom to justify spending $60 on a facial or $40 on a pedicure at a spa. Luckily, salon schools offer a great discount on these services in a comfy, pampering atmosphere for a fraction of the price.

For the same cost as one facial and pedicure at a salon, you can take two girlfriends with you and make a day of it at Elaine Steven Beauty College on West Florissant Road. Facials are only $20 and pedicures only $9. As an extra bonus, if you have free time on a Wednesday, the facials are discounted all the way down to $6.

The school is open for walk-in business three days a week: Wednesday, 9 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

If you’ve been dreaming of the weekend since Monday, grab a couple of girlfriends this Saturday for a relaxing morning escape. No makeup, no fancy clothes, just good friends and well deserved pampering at a steep, mom friendly discount.
