fired its part-time music director, Al Fischer, last week after officials learned of his plans to marry his male partner of 20 years, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

According to the article, he was let go due to living a life inconsistent with that of the Catholic Church. He previously worked in St. Ann Catholic Church in Normandy before being let go last month.
