Friends, Former Classmates Step Up to Help Randy Feger's Family as He Fights for His Life

Hazelwood West alums have set up a community fundraiser page to help the father-of-four and his family as he struggles to survive a recent bar fight over a washers game.

Though he remained in a coma, the father-of-four continued to fight for his life.

Now, the community is pulling together to help Feger and his family financially as they prepare for the financial burden his injuries will bring.

The Hazelwood West Alumni organization is spearheading the fundraiser.

“Any donation you make to the Randy Feger Family Fund will help ease the burden for the Feger family down the road,” the organizers said on their fundraiser page at YouCaring.com. “We will continue to have Randy in our thoughts and prayers.

So far, a few businesses have come forward with fundraiser offers, including Massa’s Winghaven in O'Fallon, which is hosting a Thanksgiving Eve Bash on Wednesday, Nov. 21 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. to benefit Feger's family.

“Come out and listen to DjPRU and support Randy and his family,” posted Tina Johnson on the fundraiser page.

A Feger family spokesperson added that if you’re not comfortable donating online, you can do so at any US Bank location by just asking for the “Randy Feger Fund.”

According to a post from Tawna Agee-Hanslick, any money raised will be passed along to Feger’s parents to decide how it will be used.

“We are hoping to plan an event as well,” Agee-Hanslick said. “Mattingly’s has been recommended. For tax purposes and legal reasons, the fund has to be set up a certain way, but again, I will give the check to the family to decide what is best.”

Another community member, Shawn Chowning, offered to do a Scentsy fundraiser for the family as well.

“Thank you for all your prayers and support for Randy and our famiy,” the family posted. “We really appreciate it.”
