Florissant Remembers Sept. 11

Officials, veterans and residents gather to pay tribute to a national tragedy on Sunday.

Mayor Tom Schneider served as the guest speaker and compared the tragedy of Sept. 11 with the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. For the beginning of his remarks, he played portions of President Franklin Roosevelt’s speech regarding Pearl Harbor followed by President George W. Bush’s speech on Sept. 11.

“Today, we reflect on those who perished 10 years ago,” Mayor Schneider said following the president’s replayed speeches.
