Florissant Named One of the Best Cities to Live by CNN

Florissant ranks No. 76 along with St. Charles and O'Fallon in Missouri cities.

The Valley of Flowers has sprouted another honor as Florissant has been named one of the 100 Best Cities to Live by CNN.

Florissant ranked No. 76 in the list along with St. Charles and O’Fallon, MO.

“According to CNN, we’re the best place to live in St. Louis County,” Mayor Tom Schneider said in noting that no other St. Louis County municipality made the list. “We have challenges, but we have a lot of investing in Florissant.”

The article states, “With median home prices lower than $80,000, the city has the most reasonable housing costs on our Best Places list. In addition to good public elementary and high schools, this diverse city is home to a Christian private school, two theological colleges, and a branch of Lindenwood University, the fastest-growing university in the Midwest.”

“Great neighbors & great schools plus … Hendel’s, Pearl, nice parks like Bangert and St. Ferdinand parks, Helfer’s, Goeke’s, Cugino’s, Old Town, Fritz’s, Cannoli’, St. Ferdinand Fish Fry, Las Fuentes, De-lish to name a few,” wrote Mary Ann McClenahan.

Kim Thomas wrote, “I’ve been in Florissant almost 30 years. Yes there are good things bad things and in between things. I wouldn’t live anywhere else.”

Mayor Schneider said with this honor, there’s already a goal for next year – to break to the Top 50 of the list.
