Five Things to Check Out This Week on Florissant Patch

With elections and back to school brewing, we're giving a rundown for what's happening this week on the site.

It's the beginning of August, and we're getting the month started with what's happening this week in Florissant.

  • The time has arrived for the Aug. 2 election, and Florissant Patch will stay up to date throughout the day on what’s happening around town until the results come down.
  • We’re still getting kids ready for school with tax-free weekend details as well as other need-to-know school information.
  • Although Aug. 2 marks the special election, neighborhoods throughout Florissant will be celebrating with National Night Out. We’ll make sure to give you the scoop on what’s happening with it.
  • As always, we’re checking the gas prices around Florissant.
  • The summer heat continues right into August with an excessive heat warning issued by the National Weather Service until Wednesday at 7 p.m.
