Busy May Weekend

The date of May 21 seems to be symbolic for many this upcoming weekend. For some, it means the world should be coming to an end, but to several others, it means a jam-packed weekend of events on the schedule.

Where/When: Florissant Civic Center, Saturday, May 21, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Why Go: For those seeking information on fair housing, employment, financial education or credit, several people and organizations will be on hand to speak to residents about these and more topics.

Hazelwood Central Graduation
Where/When: University of Missouri-St. Louis, Mark Twain Gym, May 21 at 10 a.m.
Why Go: If you have a family member or close friend graduating, this is the time to take part in a special occasion.
Pricing: Free 

Where/When: Ferguson Baptist Church, 333 N. Florissant, Ferguson, May 21, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Why Go: Help with the continuing effort to help residents in Ferguson affected by the Good Friday tornado. Volunteers must be 16 and older; lunch is provided; and all volunteers are asked to dress for weather and working conditions.

Where/When: Hazelwood Community Center, 1186 Teson Rd., Hazelwood, May 21, 8 a.m.-Noon
Why Go: Instead of strolling Florissant neighborhoods for the house garage sales, head to our next-door neighbor for a one-stop shop of garage sales.
Pricing: Free 

Where/When: Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, May 20-22 (Friday, 6 p.m.-11 p.m.; Saturday, Noon-11 p.m.; Sunday, Noon-7 p.m.)
Why Go: Families can enjoy a day of carnival rides, vendors, food and fun at a staple of the Creve Coeur community.
