THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN WHICH BENEFITS MISSOURI SPECIAL OLYMPICS IS COMING TO FLORISSANT FOR THE FIRST TIME

 

The Law Enforcement Torch Run, which benefits Missouri Special Olympics, will be going through Florissant on Thursday, May 22nd. This is the first time that the Torch Run will go through the City of Florissant. It will enter Florissant at Parker Road and New Halls Ferry, where it will go north on New Halls Ferry. It will then go east on US 67 to the Shop N Save at Flower Valley. The Florissant Police Department’s runners will receive the torch from the St. Louis County Police Department’s runners in the parking lot of Shop N Save. From Shop N Save the Florissant Police runners will go south on 67, and will give the torch to Hazelwood Police Department’s runners at Charbonier. The Florissant Police runners will make a very brief stop at the police station where we there will be photos taken in front of the station. There will also be photos taken at Shop N Save before they run. The torch will be received approximately at Shop N Save around 11:15am, and turning it over to Hazelwood at 11:40am.

There will be several marked police vehicles in front and behind the runners, and motorists should expect minor delays. The Florissant Police runners will be running in the curb lane of southbound 67.
