“When original estimates were over budget, we huddled with our architect-partners to identify value engineering ideas for materials that lowered costs yet met functional and aesthetic goals,” said Robert J. Police Station Expands by More Than 30%

Ferguson’s Police Station will grow by 6,300 square feet to 23,900 square feet after improvements that will add a new courtroom and sallyport for prisoner transfer.  The station will also get a new dispatch center, break room and men’s and women’s locker rooms plus an updated lobby and multiple refurbished offices.  Pinnacle’s construction plan addresses Ferguson’s public safety needs by ensuring that the existing dispatch center will remain operational 24/7 for the life of the project and until the new dispatch center can be activated.

Ferguson’s First Community Center

Ferguson is also transforming a former church and school which it purchased in 2012 into the city’s first Community Center.  The newly renovated 27,000-square-foot facility will yield a fitness center, senior center, youth center, game room, internet café, child care area, men’s and women’s locker rooms and several multipurpose rooms for community activities.

Outside, Pinnacle will replace original windows with energy-efficient units and craft a new façade blending glass, metal, brick and stone.  Additionally, the contractor will elevate the roof line by nine feet over the lobby and five feet over the fitness center to enhance aesthetic appeal and functionality.

Joining Pinnacle on the St. Louis-based project team are architects Campos Design and JEMA for the Police Station and Weis Design Group for the Community Center.
