"Christ Deliverance Ministry is dedicated to fighting obesity,” said Cynthia Ringo, pastor of Christ Deliverance Ministry. “With continual health awareness, in addition to ongoing education about exercise and proper healthy eating habits, we can make dramatic changes in people's lives. We hope to capitalize on our mission to transform the St. Louis community by inspiring, leading and supporting those who are changing their lives by getting healthy with Mind and Body this year and for years to come.”

This year, Mind and Body welcomes Ronald McDonald Care Mobile’s vision clinic, which will provide free, on-the-spot eye exams and glasses to children. The mobile vision clinic is staffed by licensed optometrists and enables early diagnosis and treatment, which are important for maintaining good vision, eye health and the prevention of vision loss. Children who need glasses can choose from a variety of new frames displayed in the mobile unit, and glasses will likely be provided at point of service. Mind and Body will also feature a youth fun run and various vendors spotlighting healthy lifestyle choices.

Representatives from DePaul Hospital, a sponsor of Mind and Body, will be on hand offering free health screenings, such as cholesterol checks. Mind and Body is also sponsored by Whole Foods Market and Qdoba.

About CDM Mind and Body
In 2010, members of the CDM congregation, led by Pastor Cynthia Ringo, made it their mission to help one another achieve their goals of getting healthy and losing weight. To accomplish this, Pastor Ringo held seminars and workshops, and the group participated in boot camp classes led by Briant K. Mitchell at BKM Boot Camp. What transpired over the next few years was awe-inspiring: With the support of each other, the 16 members of the boot camp group lost more than 600 pounds … and counting.

After witnessing the success of her boot camp group (and experiencing weight loss herself), Pastor Ringo wanted to challenge St. Louis to get healthy as well. With the help of her son, Tommie Jr., Mind and Body was created to instill lifestyle changes within the community.

About Christ Deliverance Ministry
Christ Deliverance Ministry was founded by Pastor Tommie Ringo in 1976. Overseer Ringo and his co-pastor, Elder Cynthia Ringo, actively support the community by organizing outreach events that showcase their ongoing commitment to the well-being of St. Louisans. In addition to Mind and Body, Pastor and Elder Ringo have also hosted CDM’s annual Back 2 School Rally, which provides school supplies to hundreds of area youth.
