Ferguson-Florissant Sees Almost Perfect Attendance Monday

Here are five facts to wrap your mind around for this past week.

With the first week of school almost wrapped up, a lot has happened in the Ferguson-Florissant School District this week.

We’re hoping to get you caught up on this past week by giving you five things you should know about the district.

  1. The district overall had a 99.5 percent attendance rate for the first day of school Monday, including 99.7 percent at elementary schools, 99.03 percent at middle schools and 99.23 percent at high schools.

  • Twelve schools had perfect attendance, 100 percent, including Combs Elementary, Parker Road Elementary, Wedgwood Elementary and the Student Support Center.

  • Before the Ferguson-Florissant Board of Education meeting Wednesday, 34 students graduated from summer school.

  • Saturday, 1,500 parents, students and community members came out to support the district’s back-to-school fair.

  • Vogt Elementary got off to the right start as it was named a 2013 Monsanto School of Excellence, according to the St. Louis American. Vogt will be honored Sept. 13 at the America’s Center Ballroom.
