Fall Festival is Sunday

The 16th Annual Florissant Old Town Fall Festival is set for Sunday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Do you plan to attend Fall Festival?

The City of Florissant is welcoming Fall the way it always does, with its last event of the wamer part of the year.

That's right. It's time for the annual Florissant Old Town Fall Festival.

The event, which Florissant Old Town Partners, the city of Florissant, the Missouri Arts Council and the Regional Arts Commission sponsors is in its sixteenth year. 

It will take place on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There will be 11 blocks closed to traffic, from rue St. Francois, from Florissant Road to the Old St. Ferdinand Shrine. No cars will be able to drive through as it will be festival-goers only. All side streets around rue St. Francois will also be blocked to cars.

In past years, the festival has drawn more than 35,000 visitors to Old Town Florissant, according to the city. Rue St. Francois will be activity row. There will be more than 150 booths, including games, sales, food and beverages.

Block-by-block you'll find a cook-off, a wine garden, pumpkin decorating, a silent auction, Kincaid Puppets, and jewelry making among other things. Take a look at the schedule of events below.

Fido Follies: The Fido Follies will be held at the Government Center, located at 1055 rue St. Francois. Bring your dog and enter several contests, including smallest dog, best kisser, best costume, best trick and largest dog. Water bowls will be provided on every block. All pets must be licensed and leashed.

Children’s Activities: There will be hands-on activities. Hazelwood Early Childhood is sponsoring the area, which will be held on the lawn at city hall.

Safety: The Florissant Police Department, in conjunction with MOCHIPS, will be offering free child identification kits in the Florissant City Council Chambers at City Hall.

Car Show: The Police Welfare Association will be hosting its second annual car show on the Knights of Columbus Grounds. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Florissant Police Canine Unit.

Craft Fair: This year, more than 60 crafters will be at the festival with hand-crafted works for sale.

Live Entertainment: There will be entertainment throughout the festival. Acts booked include the Dixie Rhythm Kings, Men of Harmony, Doug Jacobs, Cookie the Clown, Dan Sproat,  Pat and Anna Auberry, Carol Brady our Story Teller, North County Big Band, Richard Renner – the Stiltwalker, Kraig Kalkbrenner, The Buckhannon Brothers, Bryson Gerard, the Retro Band, Seven Weeks After and more.

Shuttle Service: There will be a shuttle on St. Catherine St. The bus bus will transport festival patrons from block-to-block on St. Catherine. Look for signs directing visitors to the stops.
