 bors to have a "meet and greet'.&nbsp\; This once a year event brings pe
 ople together to invite new neighbors and discuss how to keep their neig
 hborhood safe. &nbsp\; Next Tuesday evening is a good time to host a par
 ty and start a Neighborhood Watch group with your neighbors.&nbsp\; Visi
 t the Florissant Neighborhood Watch Group website to ask questions about
  how to get started today.\nWHERE?\nThe police are promoting these parti
 es\, but they are held at or near a block captain's home.&nbsp\; You may
  also make a request to the mayor to have the street blocked off.&nbsp\;
  The mayor may be able to stop by and have a local patrol officer explai
 n what is happening in your neigborhood.&nbsp\;\nNeighborhood Watch Grou
 p?\nNWG is organized to enable the Florissant police and the community t
 o work together to make the  9 Wards more crime resistant.&nbsp\;  It is
  a citizen involvement\, neighborhood and community-based effort\, desig
 ned to help citizens and the police in preventing primarily residential 
 burglaries.&nbsp\; In harmony with the philosophy of Community Policing\
 , Neighborhood Watch encourages strong working relationships between pat
 rol officers and the citizens they serve.&nbsp\;\nThe mayor wants to hav
