- St. Louis Post-Dispatch recently named Hazelwood Central High School as the top large-school program of the year. With it’s athletic programs proving to have a fairly successful year—from falling short at state in football to the second consecutive state triumph in track and field—the Post-Dispatch reviews the school’s successes and losses.
- The Independent News reports that North County Christian School came off a successful athletic year as well as the school celebrated five state titles in the Missouri Christian State Athletic Association. Soccer, both track and field teams, cheerleaders and volleyball each enjoyed victories at the state level.
- The Independent News also profiled a few of the North County contestants in the Ms. Missouri Senior America Pageant. The story showcases two Florissant residents, Peggy Eggers and Wendy Gordon, who will compete in the pageant at the Florissant Civic Center Theatre on July 10.
- KSDK reports that Zachary Cook has been indicted on a second-degree murder charge. Cook previously had been indicted on child abuse charges in May; however, the Florissant police had worked to get a warrant on the murder charge served. His next court date was scheduled for June 29.
