Florissant Districts Host Back to School Celebrations for Students

Each district will kick off the year with their own event.

With school bells ringing in just a few weeks, the Ferguson-Florissant and Hazelwood school districts have each planned their own welcome back celebrations for incoming and returning students.

In Ferguson-Florissant, board members, administrators, teachers and others will be on hand to welcome students and parents back for the new school year. The event takes places Aug. 8—just one day before the start of the school year—from 3-6 p.m at the district office.

According to the district, "there will be games, sports, give-a-ways, three giant inflatables, food and drink" for those attending. The event will also precede the montly board meeting, which will begins at 7 p.m.

In the Hazelwood School District, parents and students will get a warm welcome and some (tax-free back to school shopping) at the St. Louis Mills. The district will hosts its annual get-together at the Mills, Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
