Now that the new Chipotle is slated to open on March 6, the Florissant community is abuzz with the news. While many residents are excited to see the new restaurant opening, others aren’t so thrilled.
We asked our Florissant Patch Facebook community to share its thoughts on the subject, and residents let us know how they feel.

Connie D’Angelo, for example, said she’s excited about Chipotle coming to town.
“I love anything new that opens in Florissant,” D’Angelo said in a Facebook post. “I wish we could get a Macaroni Grill.”
Vicki Capstick said she’d rather not have more Mexican food options but would love to see a Culver’s. She added that “they can take Five Guys away,” but agreed with D’Angelo that any new business in town can be a good thing.
Tameka Green said she works near a Chipotle and is thrilled to see it coming to Florissant.
“I love it!” she posted. “Looking forward to being able to have it for dinner on a whim!”
Stephanie Herzog said she was excited to learn that a Chipotle would be opening in town.
“Been wishing one would open closer to home,” she said.
Nick Gilham posted that Chipotle is one of his favorite restaurants.
“I’m really excited,” Gilham said. “I currently drive to Creve Coeur once or twice a week (to get Chipotle).”
David Counts said that Qdoba, a Chipotle competitor, is “the home of the rice and bean burrito, no matter what you pick,” and added that “Chipotle is way better.”
Chris Wall, Lindsey Boyd, Rhonda Reiss-Montgomery and Dawn Blanc said they’d also like to see a Culver’s in Florissant, but some, like Paul Manganelli, had a different perspective.
“We need to empower and encourage more ‘Mom and Pop’ restaurants to open,” Manganelli posted. “I'm not against Chipotle, but then I'm not going to rush over when they open. On the positive side, they did bring jobs to the area.”
Angie Simmons was also opposed to the idea, but mostly because she doesn’t enjoy the food.
“I guess I’m one of the people that thinks Chipotle is gross and overrated,” Simmons said. “I’ve eaten there twice, two separate locations, and the food was blah, and I got sick after each meal. Qdoba all the way.”
So how about you? Are you happy that Chipotle is coming to town, or would you prefer a different business in that location? Share your thoughts in the comments section, below!

Mom and Pop restaurants are great for a community to have. the issue is that they are not consistent source of revenue as chain restaurants are. I have seen too many mom and pop places open and within a couple of years they are shutting their doors. Excited to have chipotle opening.

Culvers, Chik-Fil-A, and Red Robin would be nice additions to North County!
