Marie Dixon-Price, who married her high school sweetheart almost two years ago said the key to their 11 year relationship has been appreciation and understanding.
"Both people have to communicate with each other open and honestly," she said. "It's also important to respect and trust each other.
Whenever differences cause a heated argument, take time to calm down and discuss it when both parties are ready."
Dixon-Price also added that time plays a role in a relationship.
"Last but not least, you have to make the time to enjoy and appreciate each other," she said.
We are hoping to fill this photo gallery with photos of local couples and words of advice from area readers. Can you help us out?

I don't think I have enough life experience to give love advice just yet but I look forward to seeing what other people post. Good advice from Marie.

Well thanks for commenting anyway Ashley. I don't think there is a rule about how long you have to have lived in order to have a great opinion. It could even be about what NOT to do!
