Save the Date: Marygrove's 7th Annual Black Tie Dinner and Auction Coming Mar. 1
The evening will feature an elegant dinner in the historic Chase Park Plaza, a silent and oral auction, and live entertainment by St. Louis’ own Dr. Zhivegas--and it all benefits the children of the Florissant-based non-profit.
Marygrove, a Florissant-based non-profit organization that helps children and adolescents in need, is asking for the community's help to continue its important work.
"We open our doors to those that no one else has been able to help and we teach them how to open doors for themselves," says Marygrove's mission statement. "We give them the time they need to heal and to realize the wonderful people they are inside"
For more than 150 years, Marygrove has sustained and expanded its commitment to children in need, and it's the largest therapeutic residential treatment program in eastern Missouri, serving 170 children each day, according to a representative of the organization.
"At Marygrove, children and adolescents with mental health issues resulting from early trauma, often extreme cases of abuse, violence and/or neglect, receive treatment and life skills that will help them move toward a better, brighter future," said Courtney Noto, a Marygrove representative. "For these children and young adults, it is an opportunity to change their lives."
BLOOM 2013: A Benefit for Marygrove
Marygrove is hosting its seventh annual black-tie dinner and auction, BLOOM, on Friday, March 1.
"The evening will feature an elegant dinner in the beautiful Khorassan Ballroom in the historic Chase Park Plaza, a silent and oral auction, and live entertainment by St. Louis’ own Dr. Zhivegas, Noto said. "This event has become a much anticipated evening of fun and friendship, and most importantly, an opportunity to help Marygrove further its mission of enriching the lives of abused children."
She said many of the "cherished traditions," such as having Marygrove students participate in the evening, would be continued this year.
"New this year is a presentation that will recognize a group of individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to youth in need and who will serve as Marygrove 'Ambassadors,' giving a voice to Marygrove’s children within the community," Noto added. "We hope you will consider being a part of this special evening and we are looking forward to another outstanding turnout."
