Man Robbed of Air Jordans at Eagan Center, Police Say
Florissant Police said the men arranged to meet at Florissant's Civic Center to sell and buy the shoes.

A 17-year-old Florissant man robbed another man of his Air Jordan shoes Friday at the James J. Eagan Center.
Florissant Police said the owner agreed to meet Kirby C. Butler at the Eagan Center to sell him the shoes. Butler took the shoes and pointed what appeared to be a handgun at the man, police said. He then told the victim to look the other way and he fled.
Butler, of the 2300 block of Palomino Lane in Florissant, was charged Monday with first-degree robbery.
Police said the victim identified Butler as the robber.
Butler is being held in St. Louis County jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

@Balls,flip flops lol. And as far as having whack shoes not everyone in the black community feels that way. Some of us are just happy to gave shoes. Me personally I love shopping at Payless.

A mistake??!! Uses a gun to rob someone of a pair of shoes and you call that a mistake??? He made a choice, a criminal choice. He chose to committ a crime with a gun. He had a gun. What if he shot the victim? Wake up. This was not a mistake. It was a calculated, life threatening act - not stealing a pack of gum from the gas station.

Not taking sides here, Toni, but just clarifying a point: police said he had something "that appeared to be a gun." I see this from time to time, and people sometimes use realistic bb or pellet guns or even realistic toy guns in robberies. If police believe it was an actual gun, they usually charge that person with "armed criminal action," which was not the case here. Or it's possible they can't find the gun and can't prove what he used. Either way, yes, he chose to commit a criminal act (assuming he's guilty) and he'll pay the price if he's found guilty.

Joe I appreciate your point. 1st degree robbery includes being armed with a deadly weapon or with what appears to be a deadly weapon. I just can't believe the serious nature of crimes being committed by kids of high school age.
