Restaurant Inspections: Hokkaido Checked for Strange Pest Control Tool

Also, a Florissant Pizza Hut needs an updated food permit.

 

We’re changing up our restaurant inspections a tad bit.

We've expanded our inspections to surrounding areas, including Creve Coeur, Maryland Heights and Hazelwood. 

Each week, Florissant Patch publishes information from the local restaurant inspections of St. Louis County Department of Health as well as their grade.

Here are the latest restaurant inspections for the past 90 days:

Hokkaido Steak, Sushi and Seafood Buffet
Address: 660 N. Highway 67, Florissant
Date of Inspection: Aug. 20
Type of Inspection: Complaint
Risk Factor: 3
Grade: 100-A
Comments: Customer complained that while dining, she noticed an employee was zapping flies with a “tennis racquet looking bug zapper.” She said that the employee stood behind the buffet, above the food doing this multiple times. The inspector did not see any pests or employees using pet control, but the manager did say they have a pest control instrument like the one described. No other violations were noticed.

Pizza Hut
Address: 8457 N. Lindbergh Blvd., Florissant
Date of Inspection: July 3
Type of Inspection: Routine
Risk Factor: 2
Grade: 98-A
Comments: Debris and stains noticed on dishwasher; food permit is expired and payment needs to be made to the North County government office.

Dave and Busters
Address: 13857 Riverport Dr., Maryland Heights
Date of Inspection: Aug. 29
Type of Inspection: Routine
Risk Factor: 3
Grade: 100-A
Comments: None

Quizno’s Subs
Address: 12685 Dorsett Rd., Maryland Heights
Date of Inspection: Aug. 15
Type of Inspection: Opening
Risk Factor: 2
Grade: 98-A
Comments: No one on staff had a food protection course certification.
*Follow-up inspection scheduled for Aug. 26.

 

TGI Friday’s
Address: 12398 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur
Date of Inspection: Aug. 30
Type of Inspection: Routine
Risk Factor: 3
Grade: 98-A
Comments: Shelves in walk-in cooler have debris on them; kitchen vents have debris build up.

 

Shogun Steakhouse of Japan
Address: 12521 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur
Date of Inspection: Aug. 31
Type of Inspection: Routine
Risk Factor: 2
Grade: 100-A
Comments: Raw chicken found over vegetables; no lid found on the trash can in the ladies’ room.

Yes, I like to know do you inspect the meat store on chanbers and newhallsferry rd. Someone needs to because it doesn't smell good and the food there doesn't look good. The vegitible is drying out.

Keith, the restaurant inspections posted here are from the St. Louis County Health Department. I think the meat store you're describing is a bit out of our area, but you can always check on the county's website at www.stlouisco.com.
