Religious Services Happening Around Town
Churches across the area will host services on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
While several children pine for Santa Claus on Christmas Eve, Christmas itself has a bigger meaning in history as the day of the birth of Christ.
In order to further celebrate that day, several churches of various Christian denominations will have services on Christmas Eve and Day. We've tracked down most of the services in the Florissant area:
- Anointed House of Praise will have a Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m.
- Bethel Fellowship Assembly of God will have a Christmas Day service at 10 a.m.
- Bethel United Church of Christ will have Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m.
- Blessed Savior Lutheran Church will have services at 7 and 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve and at 9 a.m. on Christmas Day.
- Church of the Master will have services at 7 and 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
- Cross Keys Baptist Church will have a Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m.
- First Christian Church of Florissant will be have Christmas Eve services at 6 and 9 p.m., with special musical performances one hour before each service (at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.).
- Florissant Church of Christ will have a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m.
- Florissant Presbyterian Church will be having a 7 p.m. service on Christmas Eve.
- Florissant Valley Baptist Church will have Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m.
- Florissant Valley Christian Church will have service at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
- Halls Ferry Christian Church will have a Christmas Eve service at 5:30 p.m.
- John Knox Presbyterian Church will have a Christmas Eve service at 11 p.m.
- Lutheran Church of the Atonement will have Christmas Eve services at 4:30, 7 and 11 p.m., and a Christmas Day service at 10 a.m.
- Lutheran Church of the Living Christ will have a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. and a Christmas Day service at 9:15 a.m.
- New Life Baptist Church will have a Christmas Eve service at 5:30 p.m.
- Park Baptist Church will have a Christmas Eve service at 6:30 p.m.
- Redemption Ministries will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m.
- Sacred Heart Church will have Christmas Eve masses at 4 and 10 p.m. On Christmas Day, they will have masses at 7, 9 and 10:30 a.m.
- St. Andrew United Methodist Church will be having Christmas Eve services at 5:30 and 10:45 p.m. The 5:30 service will be more geared towards children.
- St. Angela Merici Catholic Church will have Christmas Eve services at 5 and 10 p.m., and Christmas Day services at 7, 9 and 11 a.m.
- St. Barnabas Episcopal Church will have a Christmas Eve service at 10:30 p.m, and a Christmas Day service at 10 a.m., which will be followed with a free breakfast.
- St. Ferdinand Catholic Church will have Christmas Eve masses at 5 p.m. and midnight; the kids' choir will perform additional songs before the 5 p.m. mass at 4:15, and the adult choir will perform before the midnight mass at 11:15 p.m. On Christmas Day, St. Ferdinand will have masses at 7, 9 and 11 a.m.
- St. Mark's United Methodist Church will have Christmas Eve services at 4, 7 and 11 p.m.
- St. Norbert Catholic Church will have Christmas Eve masses at 4 p.m. and midnight, and their Christmas Day mass will be at 9 a.m.
- St. Rose Philippine Duchesne will have two 5 p.m. Christmas Eve masses - one at the church, and one at the school building. The church will also have a 10 p.m. Christmas Eve mass, and Christmas Day masses at 6:30, 8 and 10 a.m.
- St. Sabina Catholic Church will have Christmas Eve masses at 5 p.m. and midnight, and their Christmas Day masses will be at 7:30 and 9:30 a.m.
- Salem Evangelical Free Church will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6:30 p.m.
- Trinity Church of the Nazarene will have a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m.
- Zion United Church of Christ will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m.
