Readers' Choice: Where is the Best Florist?

Just in time for Mother's Day, this week 'Patch' wants readers to weigh-in on the best place to get flowers and other green items in Florissant, Hazelwood and Maryland Heights.

Mother's Day is around the corner and Father's Day follows about a month later, so nominate your favorite place to grab a rose, bouquet, plants for the garden; or even that holiday wreath.

What is this?

Formerly "Dining Debate," welcome to "Readers' Choice," a column aimed at sharing the best finds in our area: Florissant, Hazelwood and Maryland Heights.

This weekly feature invites you to nominate and vote on your favorite places for a variety of eats and treats, services, recreation, shopping and a host of other things.

How does it work?

You may be used to the two day voting period Dining Debate had, but Patch is now offering more time to get even more reader feedback.

Now, on Monday, we will ask you to tell us your favorite place for a certain topic.

This week we're looking for a great florist. Do you know a place that has the freshest flowers and affordable prices? What about the most exotic plants around? Well nominate them.

You can let us know your favorite flower shop by commenting below. You will be able to submit your vote through Friday, May 4 at 5 p.m.

Then what?

We will post your nominations in an article Monday, May 6 in the morning. Then it will be time to vote again—this time for the "Readers' Choice" champion.

Voting will continue through Thursday, May 10 at 5 p.m. We will announce the winner first thing Friday, May 11 in the morning just in time for Mother's Day.

If you are really pulling for a certain location, share this column on Facebook and Twitter and ask your followers to vote.

This column is all about hearing from you!

So, without further ado, lets get the voting started. Patch readers, tell us by commenting below, where is the BEST place floral shop in Hazelwood, Florissant, or Maryland Heights?

Dooley's Florist on St.Francois St is the best. They go beyond just good service. Last week for a funeral I wanted a plant that could be set outside later so when they looked at it would remind them of their mother's love of gardening. The lady spent a good 20 minutes looking for the just right one and finding the right pot. Even went in the basement to look. Can't beat that service.

You can't beat that. I've never been but your recommendation certainly will make me consider them next time I have a florist need.

Flowerama has pretty reasonable prices. I've gone there for roses for my mom a few times. I also like St. Jude's in Hazelwood. I grab some at Aldi's sometimes for my house just to have them around because they are super inexpensive there.

Stems is the best place to get flowers for any occasion! Their flower arrangements amaze me every time. They have very comparable prices when compared to other flower shops in town. Not to mention they have the nicest and most caring people that you will ever meet at a flower shop. They truly are OUTSTANDING!!

Stems is best by far...for value and creativity....the arrangements and bouquets I've seen are so unique and gorgeous. They are always so friendly and the owner Jenny is so full of energy and has such a creative and artistic flair. If you tell her what you're looking for, she'll create an arrangement that's beyond your expectations. I also love their shop right in the heart of Old Town Florissant. They also do amazing and beautiful wedding florals. Love them!!!

Jenny at Stems is extremely creative and thinks out of the box when it comes to floral designs. The shop and the decor is so inviting and trendy. Jenny, Joe, Kim and all the staff at Stems are friendly, helpful and hospitable. I recommend Stems to all our Brides at the Larimore House Plantation.

St. Jude's in Hazelwood. The owner is a nice woman. The shop is small and she's dedicate to getting you what you want and need.
