Political Poll: McCaskill or Akin, Who Has Your Vote?
If the election were held today, which Missouri Senate candidate would you vote for?
One month from today the election season will be over.
In four weeks it will be Nov. 6 and voters will finally get to have their voice heard. Voters in Missouri will get a chance to fill a seat in the United States Senate. In a contentious battle, one that has garnered national attention, incumbent Democrat Claire McCaskill and Republican challenger Todd Akin are battling for one of Missouri's two Senate seats.
The last time we asked this question, Akin topped McCaskill by a good margin. With 71 percent of the votes (88 total), Akin was the winner in our poll. McCaskill only picked up 35 votes (28 percent).
The votes only tell part of the story. Many Patch readers shared their thoughts about the race Tiffany wrote: "An Akin Vote is going to be every Missourian women's dirty little vote of the decade. None of us are very happy with his comments, or apologies, but regardless of party lines, we cannot live with Claire for another 4 years, so Akin will take the election by a staggering landslide."
Not everyone agreed. Regina Hollrah commented: "I've lived thru what seems like an eternity with Todd Akin and his far right agenda. This has taken all of us, not just women, back to the dark ages, he doesn't speak for me or my family. He's supposed to be a legislator not an ordained minister when he goes to Washington to represent the people. He can no longer be objective about this office and needs to find a church in which to lecture - not the halls of congress."
So a month away from the big day, has your mind changed? Is Akin still the favorite?
