Two Men Charged for Robbery, Shooting Near Florissant Valley Campus
A Florissant man is one of two charged for robbery, assault and armed criminal action of a man near the St. Louis Community College campus.
Police arrested Jeffrey Burnett, 20, of Florissant, and John Dailey, 20 of Black Jack, who robbed and shot a man near the Florissant Valley college campus, Ferguson Capt. Dan DeCarli said. Police have not yet released the identity of the victim.
Ferguson Police said that Dailey was driving with two others to Hudson Park in Ferguson to buy marijuana. Police said that during the transaction, one of the three men pulled out a gun and shot the marijuana dealer as he tried to escape. The man was seriously injured. They took his marijuana and cell phone and drove off, police said.
Dailey took the van to the 5000 block of Minerva Avenue in the city of St. Louis and tried to clean blood and other evidence from the van, according to the police report.
Last week, a man was found shot near the campus at Hudson Road and College Drive Feb. 20, and a driver took him to the physical facilities building for help.
Both have been charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and two counts of armed and criminal action. Dailey has also been charged with tampering with physical evidence.
Bond has been set for Burnett at $250,000 cash only, and Dailey has a $100,000 bond. Both men remain held in St. Louis County jail.
