North County Home Dedicated to 4 Families with Disabilities

Rainbow Village dedicated the home to Emerson Charitable Trust, who funded the home.

Last week, four families with developmental disabilities were granted a home in unincorporated North County, thanks to Emerson Charitable Trust.

Rainbow Village, a local nonprofit organization that provides safe and affordable homes for people with developmental disabilities, dedicated a home to Emerson as they’ve agreed to fund the home.

“We are fortunate to have an organization like Rainbow Village helping the citizens of St. Louis County, and we are thrilled to recognize Emerson for the outstanding work they do for Rainbow Village, and for their remarkable gift of this beautiful home,” St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley said in a press release. “We all know how essential it is to invest in neighborhood homes. This investment benefits everyone.”

The home, which sits in the 14000 block of Mondoubleau Dr., is 1,600 square feet, four-bedroom ranch home with a finished basement and attached garage. The house has been completely renovated to widen doorways, provide handicapped ramps and remodeled bathrooms with roll-in showers. Other renovations will be made, including adding ceiling track lifts in bedrooms, according to a news release.

“Thanks to Emerson’s generous donation, four families can now have peace of mind about their adult children’s future,” Mike Rea, Rainbow Village Director of Development and Community Relations, said. “We are grateful for Emerson’s support and dedication to our mission of providing safe, affordable, neighborhood homes for people with developmental disabilities.”
