Other facts
Mike Carter was born in Hazelwood Missouri and comes from a mixture of a blue and white collar background. After car hauling and lumber milling, his family has been deeply involved in real estate since the 1960s -- Carter says he personally has been a REALTOR and entrepreneur since 1991. During his real estate career (right out of high school), he decided to go back to college and pursue a law degree. In pursuing his undergraduate degree, Carter worked full time either selling real estate, driving for UPS and/or waiting tables. His Bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri at St. Louis has an emphasis in philosophy and political Science. Mizzou is where Carter completed his law degree along with his master of journalism. During graduate school, Carter was a professor's assistant in marketing and communications law in addition to waiting tables and driving for United Parcel Service. He was a grader and taught his own lab sections of the marketing courses. He is now a Senior Lecturer at the University of Missouri at St. Louis. Upon graduating from Mizzou, Carter worked for Fleishman-Hillard but quickly started Carter Law Offices, LLC at the urging of his wife and brother. The firm focused in real estate and small business at first. However, the firm has established a very successful criminal/traffic subsidiary as well. His firm also serves as outside counsel to StopRepairBills.com, a vehicle service contract company. Mike is a former elected municipal judge and has run for prosecutor and Lieutenant Governor before. He styles himself after Ron Paul and Ross Perot politically. And, he apparently doesn't believe that Republican and Democratic parties should be listed on the ballot by candidate names. Carter values prohibiting government intrusion in citezens' privacy above nearly all else. He has voted for Ron Paul and Ross Perot twice each.
