Former Florissant Officer Dies in Humanitarian Mission

Sgt. Robert Traxel died in Guatemala earlier this week.

 

A former Florissant police officer has died in a humanitarian mission in Guatemala, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Missouri National Guard Sgt. Robert Traxel died after being struck by debris when a helicopter was taking off.

He served on the Florissant Police Department for two years, according to the Post-Dispatch.

On the department’s Facebook page, the department posted Wednesday, “Rest in peace former Florissant Police Officer and current National Guard Member, Robert Traxel. Bob died while on a humanitarian mission in Guatemala. He leaves behind a wife and four young children. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.”
