Florissant Pool Inspections Seem to Check Out

Two pools have a couple of glitches and one voluntarily shuts down.

With temperatures reaching the triple-digit mark for the upcoming days, Florissant residents will be thinking about taking a dip in the pool. How healthy are they though?

Koch Aquatic Center, Bangert Pool and the James J. Eagan Center pool have all recently been inspected by the St. Louis County Health Department, and each one encountered a couple of small issues.

On their June 27 inspections, the Koch Family Aquatic Park and Bangert Pool each needed a no diving allowed sign and markers as well as a ring buoy or throw line. All other checkpoints were found to be in compliance.

For the Eagan Center, its June 25 inspection arose from a complaint. Someone complained that the line was too murky to see the black lines in the pool below.

The inspector found that there was an inaccurate test kit being used to measure the chlorine level of the water. In turn, when the chlorine level was tested with a required, accurate test, and found the level above the maximum.

The person in charge volunteered to shut down the pool until the chlorine level can be placed in the right range.
