Paul Tripp has been arrested for abandonment of a corpse.

On Sunday afternoon, the Florissant police announced the arrest of Paul A. Tripp in connection to the Valerie Butler investigation. On Friday, according to KSDK reports, authorities labeled Tripp as a person of interest in the case.

The body of Valerie Butler, a Maryland Heights woman who went missing in early February, was discovered in Bridgeton on March 3.

Tripp has been charged with abandonment of a corpse, and his bond has been set at $50,000. He's been transferred to the St. Louis County jail, according to a press release.
