Florissant Police Department Undergoes Some Transitions
To begin accommodating the retiring chief, the department has announced a number of reassignments.
With the retirement of Florissant Police Chief William Karabas and the appointment of Major Tim Lowery to chief, the department has begun a number of transitions to accommodate the promotion.
Major Tim Lowery has been promoted to assistant police chief to help with learning more about his position and finding his leadership style, according to a press release from the mayor’s office Thursday.
From there, the following officers have been reassigned in the police department:
- Capt. Sean Fagan will be the new leader of the Bureau of Field Operations.
- Capt. Randall Boden will lead the Bureau of Support Services.
- Lt. Timothy Fagan will lead the Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
Chief Karabas will retire Dec. 31, and Major Lowery will begin his new role Jan. 1, 2013.

We sure hope these changes will FINALLY require the Florissant Police Department to do a better job and get rid of the NEGLIGENCE toward ignoring crimial investigations. We have 4 children abused over a 4 year period and NOTHING WAS DONE: NO POLICE REPORT, NO INVESTIGATION DESPITE SUBSTANTIATED CHILD ABUSE TO ONE OF OUR CHILDREN. OUR CHILDREN SUFFERED BROKEN BONES, BEING LOCKED IN THE BATHROOM, SEVERE MENTAL INJURY REQUIRING LIFE LONG TREATMENT. THE PEDIATRICIAN WAS NEVER CONTACTED ABOUT ANY OF THE INJURIES AND THE POLICE NEVER GOT THE RECORDS FROM THE PHYSICIAN. THE CHIEF OF POLICE IGNORED OUR CALL FOR A STOLEN PACKAGE BY THE PERPETRATOR'S GROWN DAUGHTER AND IT TOOK 8 MONTHS TO JUST GET A POLICE REPORT FOR THAT AND WHICH SHE WAS NOT EVEN BROUGHT IN FOR QUESTIONING. THIS IS ABSURD AND THE COMMUNITY NEEDS TO KNOW HOW SLOPPY AND NEGLIGENT THIS DEPARTMENT IS. WE DON'T WANT ANY OTHER FAMILIES TO HAVE TO SUFFER LIKE WE HAVE IN TRYING TO GET JUSTICE FOR OUR KIDS!!!
