During Monday night’s Florissant City Council meeting, Mayor Tom Schneider will give insight into the 2013 fiscal year budget with his mayoral message.
With the next fiscal year starting Dec. 1, the mayor will present to the public and the council the proposed budget figure for the city’s operations.
From there, the council will hear presentations from each department about their figures before discussing and voting on the budget.
A few weeks ago, the public and council got insight into a proposal in the police department's budget for the hiring of two part-time officers to help patrol the area parks and recreation centers.
Last year, the council approved a $30.7 million budget for the 2012 fiscal year, which was a decrease from 2011 of more than $1.5 million.
