Florissant Man Charged With Stealing Jeep Liberty
Florissant Police said the man is suspected of several other car thefts in the neighborhood.
A teen was charged July 17 with stealing a Jeep from in front of a Florissant home.
Florissant Police said Christopher Johnson, 19, of the 3100 block of Kingsley in Florissant, stole a 2001 Jeep Liberty between 1 and 7 a.m. July 14. The Jeep was parked in front of a home in the 600 block of Gatewood Drive.
Police said Johnson also is a suspect in similar car thefts in the same neighborhood. According to the report, Johnson confessed to stealing the Jeep Liberty and said he got into the vehicle by popping the lock off the door.
Johnson is being held in St. Louis County Jail in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
