Florissant Man Arrested for Bank Robbery
Brian Schappe was arrested after allegedly demanding money in the bank on Tuesday.
The man arrested Tuesday trying to rob the Southern Commercial Bank on Lindbergh has been formally charged, St. Louis County police announced today.
Brian J. Schappe, 27, of Florissant, was charged Wednesday with robbery in the first degree and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
Police say Schappe entered the bank at 6969 Lindbergh Boulevard and demanded money, but was detained by the bank's security officer. No one was injured.
Police said the bank employed a security guard after it was robbed multiple times.
