A 49-year-old Florissant man is dead after he was involved in a fatal single-car accident on Interstate 170 Friday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Robert Schnur was driving northbound on I-170 near Olive Boulevard when he traveled off the right side of the road, drove through a fence and struck a utility pole. 

Schnur was pronounced dead at Barnes Hospital just before 3:30 p.m. His Dodge Ram was totalled.
