Florissant City Council Approves $10,000 Appropriation for Sunset Park

The Council votes to help with costs of new donated land, and Mayor Tom Schneider receives a special gift.

The Florissant City Council approved an appropriation of $10,000 from the park improvement fund for a park donation.

The council unanimously voted to approve the appropriation, which will go into one of the professional services accounts. Ward 1 Councilman Tim Lee said that the appropriation is toward an 18-acre area donation to Sunset Park from the Desloge family. The family paid for the appraisal and asked the city to pay for the survey and title transfer for the land.

The council also passed a parking prohibited ordinance for 750 Manresa Dr. The council also approved a special permit use transfer for Wingstop at 8222 N. Lindbergh.

Special presentation

Florissant native and artist Tim Gillihan presented Mayor Tom Schneider with a portrait in his likeness during a special presentation.

Mayor Schneider said that he would place the portrait in the lobby of the Florissant Civic Center Theatre, as it seemed like the appropriate place.
