Commemorate Pi Day with Pie from Helfer's
The Florissant deli and cafe is selling slices of pie at $2.79 for the mathematics holiday.
March 14 celebrates the mathematic constant pi, which is 3.14 rounded off, but Florissant residents can commemorate the day with a piece of pie.
Helfer’s Pastries and Deli Café is celebrating the day by selling slices of the bakery’s pies for $2.79.
Co-owner Kathy Helfer said that the bakery has put out some of their favorite pies that aren’t always out, including apple and cream cheese, pecan, berry, apple and cherry pies.
Helfer said that she and her husband Chris decided to do it to have fun and to bring out pies that aren’t out daily. Plus, customers can indulge in a sweet treat, which Kathy points out could also be healthy as the berry pie has a lot of antioxidants.
The special will be going on all day. Helfer’s is open until 6:30 p.m.
