Ask the Candidates: Submit Your Questions for the April Election

We want to know what you would ask the candidates about as April 3 quickly approaches.

With the April election a little more than a month away, we’re getting ready to get residents primed with profiles and information from the candidates.

But we need your help to do that in a couple of steps.

We’re hoping to host a forum within the next month where candidates answer questions from you about issues, concerns and anything else you want to know.

But we’re trying to debate whether to make it an online-only or a forum coupled with an online event.

Residents would be able to ask candidates anything that they want to know, and get that one-on-one time feel.

Help us decide which way is the best way to go, and let us know your thoughts.

My question for a candidate would be, "What changes would you like to see made to the Florissant budget to make it easier to understand?"

Patch has presented this subject several times for a Q & A. forum with candidates. I am more than willing to have an open debate in a public space where citizens can address their questions face to face. No disrespect toward an online forum, but responses can be blindly answered. The good citizens of the community should know that candidates are knowledgeable on the subject presented. Please feel free to contact me if a debate is scheduled and I would be more than happy to attend any and/or all forums. I can also be contacted at 314-838-2313 or email- ward7@florissantmo.com.
Respectfully,
Florissant Ward 7 Councilwoman Karen McKay

Karen:

Thanks for your thoughts. We wanted to be sure to poll readers who aren't on Facebook, and I think that residents are wanting a live event, so that's what we'll get set up. We're already working on place and date.

My question for all the City Council candidates would be: Many of the people of Florissant have noticed the growing tide of nepotism in Florissant City jobs. What do the candidates plan to do to stem this tide, make more jobs available to residents without relatives in Florissant government, and make Florissant government more diverse???
