As you might know, Florissant Patch editor Aja Junior and her husband Robert Williams have been preparing for a pretty exciting event—the birth of their new baby.

Welcome to the World, Robbie Williams!

What you may not know is that Robert Anthony Williams, Jr. came into the world on Nov. 8. Little Robbie weighed in at 7 pounds. He’s healthy and beautiful, and he and his parents are getting to know each other at home.

Mom and Dad are understandably exhausted as they get used to their new schedule, but both Aja and Robert are absolutely thrilled to finally have their son home and, between you and me, they’re both going to be amazing parents.

“Just feeling really blessed and so in love with my baby boy,” Aja posted on her personal Facebook page. “I have a great road to recovery, but thanks for all of the love, prayers and support sent to our family.”

Meet Your Interim Editor

If you’re connected with Florissant Patch on Facebook, you already know me. My name is Angela Atkinson, and I’ve been with Patch since 2010. I’ll be filling in for Aja while she’s healing up and spending time with her family on her maternity leave.  

You may know me from one of my previous articles or features, or perhaps you remember me from my recent 14-week stint as interim editor for Hazelwood Patch. I’m also the same interim editor who filled in for Aja while she was on her honeymoon.

I’ve lived in the North County area for more than 13 years. I spent the first three living in Florissant before my family and I moved to Hazelwood 10 years ago—but to be fair, I can literally see Florissant from my front door. I’m about 100 paces from the border and we still do most of our business in Florissant.

When my husband Bill and I moved to town, we had just one child. Since then, we’ve added two more to the fold.

Our sons, Cameron, 15, and Noah, 9, are Hazelwood School District students since kindergarten. Cameron is a sophomore this year, and Noah is in third grade.  Our daughter Sophia, who turned 5 today, attends a private preschool in town, and she’ll start kindergarten in the district in 2013. Bill is a senior information technology engineer for a bio-medical company.

As a local resident, taxpayer, parent and homeowner, I have the same concerns you do about our cities and our neighborhoods. While I’m on duty, I hope to work with all of you to continue to make Florissant Patch a strong and useful tool for the community.

I’m really looking forward to digging in and bringing a fresh perspective to Florissant Patch while Aja is away, but don’t worry—she will return to her post near the end of January.
