Raishelle Scott named Social Worker of the Year
The School Social Work Association of Missouri (SSWAM) named Raishelle Scott of the Hazelwood School District as the School Social Worker of the Year.
Each year, SSWAM honors a social worker who is dedicated to service to students. She will be recognized in the fall at a SSWAM conference, and at the Midwest School Social Workers Conference in September in Indianapolis.
Scott is involved in many roles in the District, including site monitor of the summer youth employment program; serving on committees for Title I Parent Involvement, Fall Family Festival and Coordinated Health Advisory; providing parent workshops for Guiding Good Choices through the Safe Schools-Healthy Students Initiative; establishing Girls Clubs at Jury, Keeven and Twillman elementary schools and offering financial literacy classes at Grannemann and Keeven elementary schools. Scott is a member of the North County Churches United for Racial Harmony and Justice Youth Task Force.
