The U.S. Department of Housing Development, along with NeighborWorks has extended the applicatoin process for the Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program. The dealine is now set for September 15, 2011. 

EHLP will assist Missouri//homeowners who have experienced a reduction in income and are at risk of foreclosure due to underemployment, economic conditions or a medical condition or involuntary unemployment.

Eligible homeowners can qualify for an interest-free loan, which pays a portion of their monthly mortgage for up to two years, or up to $50,000, whichever comes first.

Anyone who wants to apply must act fast. There is no cost to apply on a first-come, first served basis. All applicants must show all requiired documents in a timely matter or risk losing the opportunity to apply.
